Here are a list of things from around the web that have caught my eye lately. Pin-up girls before and after. So interesting! The weather just switched from 80, sunny, and perfect to rainy, and chilly here in Chi-town. That means layering pieces is a must! Yummmmmm, quinoa mac and cheese. Rule number 234 of

The time has come for Brian and I to venture away from our condo unit. The past two months we’ve been hard at work preparing our place for the market. I wish I had photos of the place when Brian purchased it in 2007. Just imagine floral wallpaper, blue carpet, and plastic blinds. Through the

Ok so it feels more like summer has come. But honestly, I’ll take either. Anything but the gloom of the winter. When I think of spring, I think of bright colors and flowers. So when it came time to fancying up my mantel for spring, that’s what I went with. It’s nothing extravagant, but it’s

Since Cort shared the wonderful world of Beso the other day, I thought I’d continue to share the love of websites and introduce you to Houzz. When I explain Houzz to friends, I describe it as Pinterest but just for interior decorating. I already have a Dream Home board on Pinterest, but Houzz takes my

I heart Pinterest. If you haven’t heard of it by now, you must be living under a rock. Seriously it’s the bee’s knees. It’s like the Holy Grail for DIYers and art lovers and foodies and just general internet browsers. I can literally get sucked in for hours at a time. So when some of

Have you guys heard of Beso? It’s a site dedicated to everything shopping related. The people behind this site are crazy smart. They “pull in products from thousands of the best e-commerce sites out there, so that you can shop your favorite brands and stores with one simple search.” Brilliant right!? You can create your

Brian once said my direct deposit from my paycheck might as well go directly to Etsy rather than our checking account. I can’t resist all the cute stuff! My favorite part: almost every shop can customize anything you want. Here are some shops I’ve purchased items from in the past that I recommend. Shabby Mcfabby I

Apparently our family loves some good old fashioned competition. This past Sunday, we attended a chili cook-off and man did it get intense. There was smack talk and everything. But before we get into the results, lets get into the details. My aunt and uncle were the host and asked us all to bring a

Thank goodness for the upcoming weekend! Every year right around this time I start getting antsy. Antsy for summer. And even though this year has been mild for us her in Chi-town, I am still ready for spring. Anyways, here are a few things from the web that I have found interesting lately. Enjoy! Aren’t
We are two sisters who love cooking, DIYing, entertaining, traveling, a good glass of wine (or two or three), photography, and pretty much anything where we can use our creativity. Our main mission is to keep an online journal in hopes of inspiring ourselves daily. If we happen to inspire others along the way, it would be an added bonus.

I am a 25 year old recent newlywed to my husband, Brian. I live in the suburbs of Chicago in a 25 year old condo. Yes, my house and I are the same age (my house being the one needing redecorating and updating). I love trying out new recipes, DIYing works of art to decorate my home, working on my photography skills, and above all making time for my family and friends (particularly my big sister Cortney). During the week you can find me wearing kaki’s and cardigans, as I am a second grade teacher. My goal is to use the creativity I use in my classroom on a daily basis in other realms of my life.
I am a 29 year old Chi-Town city gal living in a cozy condo with my boyfriend, Jeff. Monday through Friday I go by Miss Schmitt, as my main gig is working as a speech-language pathologist at a school in the burbs. Beyond my day job, I adore decorating, finding treasures at flea markets, seeking new adventures in the city, laughing, indulging in anything sweet, and spending time with friends and family (especially my lovely sis, Kali). Read along as I share my hopes, dreams, and outcomes (the good and the bad!).
