Glitter can either look tacky or chic. But when it is done right, there is nothing better than a little shimmer. Love, amore, liebe, crush, whatever you call it, I feel it for glitter and sequins that are done well! So when glitter nail polish became a craze, I got a bit excited. The only

Yesterday I shared some simple ways to decorate a winter bridal shower. I hope you’re hungry because today I’ll be sharing all the delicious recipes we served at Kaitlyn’s shower. I threw this bridal shower for my college roommate, Kaitlyn. Two of my other Hawkeye roomies, Ashley and Karen, threw it with me. When we

Last weekend I helped throw a bridal shower for my girlfriend, Kaitlyn, who’s getting married this January. Because of her wedding date, we decided on a winter theme. Lucky for me, this meant it was justifiable to rock out to Christmas music on November 5th (by the way, purchasing Michael Buble’s Christmas album needs to be

Flea markets are my thang. I love em. I could wander the booths all day browsing all the treasures and dreaming up things to create. And surprisingly enough, Jeff tolerates it. He even joins in on the fun sometimes and gets excited about his own finds. Of course our idea of a great find are

I amore Giada DeLaurentiis not only for her delicious recipes and informational shows (Brian even watches with me, perhaps for different reasons…) but also for her connection with fans. I recently started following Giada on twitter and she’s always filling my page with replies to her fans. Shortly after realizing this, it became my mission

I love most everything about fall. It offers amazing bold colors strewn all over the outdoors, and cool crisp air that makes for great sweater weather – without even needing a coat! Some people might think that living in the city would mean you don’t get to enjoy these things. Some might think that the

Happy belated Halloween! No we didn’t go trick-or-treating (although I wish we did…candy and I get along great!), but we did participate in some festive activities. We went to the Blackhawks game, dressed as black cats! Meow! And we got into character by walking around pretending to “claw” things. It was a great time and
We are two sisters who love cooking, DIYing, entertaining, traveling, a good glass of wine (or two or three), photography, and pretty much anything where we can use our creativity. Our main mission is to keep an online journal in hopes of inspiring ourselves daily. If we happen to inspire others along the way, it would be an added bonus.

I am a 25 year old recent newlywed to my husband, Brian. I live in the suburbs of Chicago in a 25 year old condo. Yes, my house and I are the same age (my house being the one needing redecorating and updating). I love trying out new recipes, DIYing works of art to decorate my home, working on my photography skills, and above all making time for my family and friends (particularly my big sister Cortney). During the week you can find me wearing kaki’s and cardigans, as I am a second grade teacher. My goal is to use the creativity I use in my classroom on a daily basis in other realms of my life.
I am a 29 year old Chi-Town city gal living in a cozy condo with my boyfriend, Jeff. Monday through Friday I go by Miss Schmitt, as my main gig is working as a speech-language pathologist at a school in the burbs. Beyond my day job, I adore decorating, finding treasures at flea markets, seeking new adventures in the city, laughing, indulging in anything sweet, and spending time with friends and family (especially my lovely sis, Kali). Read along as I share my hopes, dreams, and outcomes (the good and the bad!).
